The third draft.

Yes, darling ones, I am about to embark on the third draft of Just Desserts for the Metlab scheme. I've been thrashing out an amended beat sheet with the help of the great Satan himself, Chris Soth. It works too, I'm telling you.

In order to focus, I'm thinking of a phrase that works for me: START LATE, FINISH EARLY.

Any others that people find useful?

Coffee is good but, definitely, one of the most useful things you can know: Enter as late as possible, get out as early as possible.

And the hint about dialogue which was mentioned at SWF, I forget by who, but is basically "keep cutting words out of dialogue as long as it continues to make sense".

Lucy - coffee or death, tough call...

Lad - excellent dialogue tip!

...that would be the lad himself... *fanfare please* ...Tony Jordan!

I thank you! ;)

Alright alright, we didn't go to SWF this year and you did!

Even so, Tony Jordan rules.

OK. Mine's "remember what the scene's there for." If it isn't telling anything or you've said it already in another scene then it is just padding.

Ooh, nice one Rach! So essential. I'll write that on my wall.
