"Mum, don't be upset, we've had an eventful evening..."
Thus did my daughter of darkness greet me (by phone) when I was on the train home last night.
Well, clearly I shouldn't go out in the evening because when I do, all hell breaks loose.
I did indeed go to the Microbudget debate and very good it was too. I shall post about that tomorrow when I've gathered my thoughts.
My husband comes home from work, parks up and finds a hooded youth (the one that needs a hug, apparently) tagging on the gate next to our house. When told to desist in his vandalism, said youth called up his mates and soon 6 of them were throwing bricks at my husband and wielding a length of iron pipe left very helpfully in the back of a nearby lorry.
My husband, the big Alpha male, stared them all down and stood his ground despite an injury to his hand. The youths legged it, police were called, the paramedics arrived to bind his hand and he drove himself to the local A & E to get stitches.
So we had a look at the tag. Confusingly it says 'Peckanham' which would imply that they come from Peckham or possibly Beckenham.
We live in a quiet area. Even the residents of the local ex-alcoholic hostel two doors down are delightful, that's the kind of place Nunhead is.
Where's Nunzilla when you need her?

And hope your hub's hand gets better quick.
By the way I'm trying to picture where you live I know that area so well. My friend used to live right opposite those old alms houses on Nunhead Green..
Thanks for your support and you too Pots.
You could always get even by writing a verrry successful script in which minor characters loosely based on that illiterate youth and his unpleasant mates suffer terribly, and their lives are shown to be insignificant - and hope he gets to see it one day and is SORRY.
Other than that, hunt the pointless little bastards down and kick the shit out of them.
All joking apart, it's a gang-related attack and now all I have to do is ring the rozzers and they will be round here in 3 minutes in FULL RIOT GEAR!!!
Thanks for your support though, I do feel a script coming on...
