REVIEW: THE COVEN by Lizzie Fry

By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes... This book is wicked in every sense of the word. Don’t be fooled by the English setting, this book is global! I loved the pace, the diverse characters and what it taught me about the Cornish landscape and culture.

With the rise of the far right worldwide, abortion restrictions in Gilead - sorry (not sorry) - North America and the very real phenomenon of internalised misogyny, this is a rollercoaster novel for our time that extends beyond its witchcraft theme.

Trans and non-white characters are included, creating a resistance that feels truly modern. At its beating heart lie believable family dynamics and a wonderful love story that is the polar opposite of sentimental. What a great series this would make! Come on Amazon and Netflix - make Lizzie Fry an offer!
